Yarn Weight - DK (Double Knitting)

DK (Double Knitting) weight yarn is a medium-thickness yarn, thicker than a Sport and finer than a Worsted. It is extremely versatile and allows you to knit garments with structure, good stitch definition and a perfect balance between lightness and warmth. It is ideal for sweaters, jackets, blankets, accessories, amigurumi and children’s garments.

This weight of yarn is a favourite in some brands such as Rico Design, as it is the weight used for many of their qualities. It is slightly thicker than Sport weight but not by much. In 100 g of product, the length of the yarn is approximately between 200 and 250 metres. The balls may come in 50 or 100 grams.
