The most common reasons are incorrect details, insufficient funds, card limits, your bank blocking the transaction, or issues with 3D Secure authentication. Check the information and try again. If the problem persists, contact your bank or message us via chat so we can explore alternatives.
Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods
At Garmonyarns we process payments with Shopify Payments. We sell throughout the European Union and accept payments exclusively in euros (EUR). Through Shopify Payments the main cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and UnionPay) and also accelerated payments such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay on compatible devices.
Credit and debit cards
We accept payments with Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and UnionPay (debit and credit) via Shopify Payments. All charges are processed in euros (EUR). On your bank statement the charge may appear as Garmonyarns or with the statement descriptor associated with Shopify Payments, depending on the card issuer.
How your payment is processed
When you confirm your purchase, Shopify Payments submits the transaction to your card issuer for authorisation. In the EU, Strong Customer Authentication (PSD2/SCA) applies, so your bank may ask you to validate it (e.g. SMS, banking app or biometrics) via 3D Secure before approving the charge. If authentication fails or the issuer declines it, the order will not be completed.
Transaction security
Our checkout inherits Shopify’s PCI DSS Level 1 compliance (the highest required by the industry) and uses TLS encryption to protect communications. We do not store your full card details: secure processing is handled by Shopify Payments.
Common anti-fraud controls
Shopify includes fraud analysis and checks such as CVV and Address Verification Service (AVS) to help identify risky orders and reduce chargebacks. If an order appears unusual, we may request additional verification before preparing it.
If your bank declines the payment
Declines are usually due to incorrect details, insufficient funds, card limits or issues with 3D Secure/SCA. Review your details and try again. If the issue persists, contact your bank to authorise the transaction or try another card/method.
What you’ll see on your statement
The charge may be displayed with a configurable “statement descriptor” to identify the purchase (e.g., “SP* GARMONYARNS”). The exact wording depends on the issuer and the descriptor configuration in Shopify Payments.
Accelerated payments (Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay)
Accelerated payments let you complete checkout faster using saved information and strong authentication where appropriate (PSD2/SCA and 3D Secure). Buttons appear automatically at checkout (and, if you choose, on product pages) only when the customer’s device/browser is compatible. This reduces steps, improves conversion and maintains regulatory compliance in the EU.
Shop Pay
Shop Pay allows your customers to save email, address and card securely to pay with a single tap at any store with Shop Pay enabled. After enrolling and verifying once, they can use it for future orders without repeating verification (unless the issuer requires SCA).
- Key benefit: auto-fill of details and a shorter payment process.
- Compatibility: works in modern browsers and in Shopify’s standard checkout.
- Security: integrates 3D Secure when the bank requests it.
Apple Pay
Apple Pay lets you pay from Safari on iPhone, iPad or Mac (or a paired Apple Watch) using Face ID/Touch ID. The button is only shown to users on a compatible Apple device.
- Technical requirements: SSL active on your domain and activation in Settings > Payments; Apple manages biometric authentication.
- Experience: one-step purchase without typing card details; shipping/billing details are completed automatically.
- Security: complies with PSD2/SCA through strong authentication and 3D Secure where applicable.
Google Pay
Google Pay lets you pay from Android and compatible browsers (for example, Chrome) using the details saved in your Google account. The button is shown to users who have Google Pay available on their device and browser.
- Requirements: have Google Pay enabled with your card provider (Shopify Payments supports it) and comply with the Google Pay API policies.
- Note for the EU: with Shopify Payments, Google Pay is available in all regions except France; in France customers may not see the Google Pay button at checkout (they can use card or Shop Pay).
- Security: compatible with SCA/PSD2 and 3D Secure when the issuer requires it.
How the buttons are displayed
- Shop Pay / Apple Pay / Google Pay buttons are shown dynamically if the customer is using a compatible device/browser; otherwise, checkout defaults to the standard card flow.
- You can also enable dynamic buttons on product pages so the customer can jump straight to paying with the available accelerated method.
Compliance and security in the EU
- If you use Shopify Payments with these methods, checkout complies with PSD2/SCA and integrates 3D Secure when the issuer requires it.
- The connection is protected with TLS encryption and Shopify maintains PCI DSS compliance as a Level 1 provider.
Shopify gift cards
We accept Shopify gift cards issued by Garmonyarns. To redeem, enter the gift card code in the relevant field at checkout. If the balance covers the total, you can complete your order straight away; if not, the system will ask you to add another payment method for the difference (for example, a bank card or another gift card).
You can use multiple gift cards in a single order, combine them with discount codes, and their balance is applied to the order total, including taxes and shipping. If you only use part of the balance, the remainder stays available for future purchases until it is used up. Gift cards cannot be used to buy other gift cards.
To check the balance, follow the link included in your gift card email; if you’ve lost it, we can resend the email with the updated balance. For refunds of orders paid with a gift card and another method, the refund is applied first to the gift card up to its limit and the rest to the other payment method. By default, in Shopify gift cards do not expire (expiry only applies if the merchant configures it in line with local regulations).
Local payment methods
Shopify Payments offers local methods (for example, Bancontact, iDEAL, Klarna, etc.) in certain countries. They are not currently enabled in our store, but if you need to pay with a method unavailable in your country, please contact us so we can review whether activation is possible.
Fraud prevention and verifications
Shopify Payments applies automated risk controls (AVS/CVV, unusual patterns, etc.). For atypical or high-risk orders, we may request additional verification of identity or of the payment method’s ownership before dispatching, in line with PSD2/SCA and the use of 3D Secure.
Security and anti-fraud measures for each payment type have already been detailed in previous sections.
Refunds and returns
Refunds are issued to the same payment method used and are limited to the amount actually charged. For conditions, processes and scenarios, please see our Returns Policy:

Large orders
We do not apply minimum or maximum amounts at checkout. If you plan to place a large order, we recommend contacting us in advance so we can explore better pricing and logistics availability.
