What are Garmon blocking mats and what are they used for?
This set consists of nine interlocking foam mats that fit together to form a work surface. They are used for blocking knitted and crocheted items: place your damp project on the mats, stretch it to the desired measurements, secure it with pins and leave it to dry so that it holds its shape.
These blocking mats are suitable for knitting and crochet projects, including jumpers, shawls and squares, as well as other projects that need to lie flat.
How do you use blocking mats for knitted and crocheted items?
First, connect the mats to create the work surface you need. Then place your damp project on top, gently stretch it by hand to the desired measurements and secure it with pins. One side of the foam is smooth, while the other has a slightly textured, grainy surface, so you can work on whichever side you prefer. The textured surface helps excess water escape from the fabric more easily.
